Cold Turkey
For the longest time Windows OS is the only OS I have grown to know and love. With a Glossy UI, abundance of software, ease of install, and abundance of supported hardware convinced me that Windows was the only OS for me…..UNTIL now!!!!!
The spirit to tinker has overwhelmed me and after fooling around with various Linux distros: Progeny, Ubuntu, Knoppix and Knotix, IÂ’ve decided to settle with Knotix…which is one CD big…..Super easy to install, fully featured distro for both the beginner and programmer alike best of all it is compatible with debian packages.
The KDE interface rivals that from Windows and its super configurability makes it a joy to tinker with. Over the next couple of days I want to begin to tinkering with the open office tools as well as the multimedia tools. In later blog posts I hope to post some pix of my sexy new OS.
My Machine is an AMD/1400MHZ/512mb RAM/40 GB.
